This complete 1/35th scale model depicts the British WW-2 ‘Carrier AEC 6Pr. Gun DEACON’ which was manufactured by AEC on the MATADOR truck chassis. A total of 175 were produced and saw action from spring 1942 onwards. Although the vehicle looks strange it was very effective and scored a number of major victories in the desert, particularly at El Hamma where Deacons of ZZ battery 76th Anti-Tank Regiment R.A. disposed of a force containing Panzer-III tanks, towed ‘88mm guns and a Tiger-1!
This model includes full suspension and chassis, cab and gun shield interior, full ammunition stowage and turned aluminium gun barrel. An etched brass detail set, small selection of stowage and colour decals are also provided.
